Project: Mint Chocolate Panna Cotta

Its been awhile that I’ve
made a dessert. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to dessert it has
to look fancy with the ‘oohs and ahhws’ effect. And of course it has to be
delicious.
I’ve made panna cotta’s
before and sometimes I have ‘eureka’ moments and this dessert is one of those
moments. I love anything mintchocolate-ish and I don’t like to brag, but this
dessert is a-ma-zing! What a great match!
And maybe a great idea for
the upcoming holidays?

Ik kan me niet herinneren wanneer ik voor het laatst
een toetje gemaakt heb. Heel lang geleden dus. Maar wat toetjes betreft, het
moet áltijd mooi uitzien want het oog wil ook wat toch? En uiteraard smaakvol.
Panna cotta’s zijn makkelijke en lekkere toetjes.
Soms krijg ik echt opeens goeie ideeën. Net als deze: een mint chocolade
panna cotta stijl! Ik hou sowieso van deze combo en ik wil niet graag opscheppen
maaruh, dit toetje is héérlijk!
En misschien een idee voor de komende feestdagen?
P.S. basis volgens Gordon Ramsay’s recept!

Da Recipe serves 2: 250 ml cream, 50 ml milk, 2 tbsp. sugar, 2 sheets of gelatin, 2 Fisherman's Friend tablet + mint extract (1 tsp.), food coloring blue and yellow, few vanilla drops, dark chocolate
The first batch was too dark mint-ish so I suggest: 2x blue drops + 1x yellow drop = mint.
No mint extract? Do not panic! You can use Fisherman's Friend, just add it while you are cooking the cream.
I love stuff that wiggles ha.
To make chocolate shavings, just scrape with a sharp knife on top of a bar of chocolate. Careful for your fingers!
Da Steps:
- Soak gelatin in 2 tbsp. of water.
- In pan goes: the cream, milk, sugar, Fisherman's Friend and stir and cook on low heat. The FF and sugar should have solved. Don't let it boil!
- Remove pan from heat and add in the soggy gelatin. Combine well.
- Add food coloring and vanilla drops. Stir stir stir!
- Let it cool off in the pan. Once cooled off pour it in plastic cups.
- Let it chill in the fridge to set for at least 4 hours (mine went overnight)
- When the panna cotta is all set, remove from the plastic cups. You can place the cups in a warm water bath for easy removal.
- Serve with shaved chocolate and you're done!

So! Recently I went shopping (because it’s warm in Holland, 18°C and I was in a mood for new dresses) and one of the things I’ve bought were these awesome knuckle rings at good ol` H&M. Too bad all the S sizes were out of stock. But I still wanted them so I bought the size M which was way too big for my fingers.
What to do about it? In this post I’m going to show you how tape will be the answer of fixing oversized rings! NL

Vine Vera - a scam or fan?

Have you heard of beauty brand Vine Vera before? No, me neither until I was in London when I passed a shop/spa and a salesman lured me in with a free moisture day cream sample. And the salesman whom is a foreigner immediately turned into a cunning selling mode by letting me try on Vine Vera’s peeling treatment on my hand, telling me how big my pores are (gee thanks), the discounts and all the ‘promising’ results and glory of Vine Vera.
It was like a home shopping TV channel but then in real life.
Firstly, Vine Vera is hella expensive! And the salesman was not giving up in selling me the ‘resveratrol merlot peeling’.
I was trying to nope-my-way-out to all his offer and he finally offered me the peeling for £50 instead £100. Along with a free hand cream, a free spa facial treatment (didn’t go due my short stay in London), a spatula and another handful of free samples - I surrendered. This is probably my most expensive peeling yet.

A Day in Ghent
This is Ghent
(and this is Bruges)
Another city trip to Belgium and this time it`s Ghent! The last time I entered Belgium was when I visited Bruges with A. which I written a blogpost about it. Again, one of the perks of living south Holland is the quick access to Belgium. For me it only takes less then an hour to reach Ghent by car. -5° GhentSummer is around the corner and by now you should know I`m a slow blogger. Me and A. were in Ghent during the Winter time and it was minus 5 degrees Celsius. My scarf and thick coat should give you the hint anyway. Anyway! It was pretty cold but the sun was shining effortlessly that day and that makes me and A. a happier travel person too! This picture looks like Summer doesn`t it? But really it was -5°.Food time! Het Moment❤❤❤❤
