Comptoir Libanais ♥ 4/5
@The Netherlands - Rotterdam
We Ordered: rose tea, Lebanese spiced hot chocolate, tabbouleh, falafel, baked aubergine (mine!) and something with lamb in yoghurt sauce for A.
My first time eating Lebanese food and I like it! I was with my foodie-bestie and we had a `mezze` which are basically mini dishes or sides such as the Spanish tapas or the Chinese dim sum! Gotta love food similarity in different cultures.
Not the best falafel but still scrumptious!
More eating out w/
A goodbye dinner from colleagues at 32 Eten en Drinken. We had a 3-course meal that we picked out beforehand for ourselves. I had salad, a German pizza called `flammkuchen and a tasting dessert platter. The salad with smoked salmon delicious! I was looking forward for the main which was this vegetarian German pizza that I have never had before. It came on the plate as a sandwiched toast with in between soggy rice and was a let down. I mean soggy rice sandwiched in two toasts is not what a flammkuchen should be (yes, I`ve Googled it)! The stir fried Asian greens on the side were the only taste element on the plate.
And finally the dessert. A plate with different small tasting desserts that perhaps looked artsy but I don`t understand at all. The weird pink bar has too much gelatin agent, the ice cream was ok but icy, the chocolate bars were ok but just ok. Overall the dessert was just not whole and I feel disappointed because dessert is my favorite course part.

Meanwhile, my colleagues knows my love for food quite well.
A drink and gossips with co-workers after work!

ALOHA ♥♥ 3/5
@The Netherlands - Rotterdam

Aloha is a restaurant that is located in a building that was once a tropical swimming pool Tropicana. Pretty cool actually! You can still see some pool resembles here and there.
Our Aloha food
1 carbonated ice coffee
1 bitter lemon
1 farmers omelette w/ potato, onion, veggies and slices of bread
1 salad w/ pumpkin, mushroom, sea buckthorn, buffel ricotta and slices of
Our food was very late and I know it was very busy and the service were really trying but still, we just don`t like to wait for ages!
Eventually the food came, pretty and all and we digged in. I really like Aloha`s safe-the-future vision with food and trying to minimize food waste.
Go Aloha!

So back to our food. They forgot my slices of bread. And secondly where are the potatoes in my dish?? Nonetheless I got my bread and it was a tasty dish. The coffee-mayonnaise was my TOPfavorite.

Coffee-mayonnaise! I love LOVE it!! Recipe please anyone?

Koek en Pan 52th Croffin!
A foodie event
An invite to taste a croffin? Well heck yes! count me in! Koek en Pan, one of my favorite bakers in The Netherlands just made 52th and final croffin-flavour and as for the grand finale it was quite spectacle. So far I only tried 4 different croffin flavours and this final 52th flavour is my 5th, woo!

Black Diamond
The 52th croffin is the humble `Black Diamond` with the flavour Dutch black berries/currants, edible charcoal, pastry cream and tonka beans. Koek en Pan you have outdone yourself it was delicious and so pretty to look at!
Meanwhile eating the good stuff and also meeting other food bloggers, we loved it!
My first protest march
Last Wednesday I didn`t go to work but was joining with a couple of colleagues for a protest march and went on strike for teachers but also for all educational people.
In total 11,000 people joined the protest march including cute kiddo`s!
Funny water-bus thing.
Amsterdam / seeing another Prince getting married / food / my windowsill / etc.

My current read is the Dutch novel `Oesters van Nam Kee` which literally means Oysters of Nam Kee and when I was in Amsterdam China Town I`ve found the actual Nam Kee restaurant from the book itself!
I followed everything from this whole Prince Harry and Meghan`s marriage on tv. It was beautiful!
Vegan cheese for me to try out, more eof this coming soon!
The rest of my Summer
My family from abroad came over and I`ve decided to make breakfast for them.
More family days and business that means food, food and food!
Summer also means food festivals and I went to a couple of these food festivals.

  1. Your life is so full of delicious food and adventures! Beautiful xo

  2. So much food in your life lately! :D // Yayy the Japanese snacks! Japan always has the most innovative flavours haha. // The Lebanese spiced hot chocolate sounds so gooood. I've been having a lot of regular hot chocolate lately, loaded with whipped cream and ground cinnamon! // Ooh Aloha really does look like a converted pool area. What a nifty way to revamp a place! // Coffee mayonnaise?! I admit that I am a bit skeptical, but also very, very curious. -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

  3. No lack of food in my foodielife haha, I'll make sure of that :)
I don't drink hot chocolate too much but somehow in the Winter the hot cacao wins over
the coffee from time to time! And girl, you really need to try out the coffee mayo!!
    It's so gooood :D XX
