My must-sees in Tokyo 2018

Akihabara/秋葉原
The district where all the cool nerds or should I say otaku hang out! Manga, anime, Pokémon-go, toys and gadgets are at your service in this vibing place.
I think this is where it all started with my crushing on Japan: manga. Oh how much I loved manga back in the days!I grew up with manga and anime on television, later on with games, the awesome genius design and of course the typical cute Japanese
stuff.
my last anime: Naruto

Maidreamin Café ♥♥♥♥♥
Well I can finally say I have visited a maid café in kawaii Japanese style! So what`s a maid café exactly? It`s a café where you can order themed food and drinks and get served by Japanese girls dressed up in cute lolita style clothing. It should be a pampering kind of thing and the serving maids are also cosplaying. To make every customers feel special!

Me and my cousin got a table and we ordered just drinks. I wanted pancakes but they were sold out sadly. As we both got some expectation of how well and swell the service should be we were left with a so-so feel. The Japanese girls were smiling and talking/singing in high pitched voice but the service was really slow.
I guess because they were lacking in staff so that was a bummer.
I wanted pancakes so badly but it was sold out! Instead I got myself this ridiculously sweet melon float.
Also you can`t take photo`s freely inside the café except yourself with the food. If you want to take a picture with a maid you have to pay which did raised my eyebrow.
the Bill
- service charge ¥ 500 p.p (boo)
- ice tea
- melon float

Akihabara Vending machine alley
Someone tipped me to go check out this special vending machine corner. Thanks! I`ve also heard that this place is a bit spooky and I got to admit I didn`t want to stay here too long...
So as you can see there`s a popcorn machine which is quite rare to see but apparently you can also buy the following things: toys, canned bread (SpongeBob anyone?) and these weird mysterious surprise packages? Tokyo, you`re full of surprises!
Bye Akihabara!
To Skytree Tower!
And we went by foot
This is candy dispenser thingie is so cool! So does this truck down here.
My uncle says it`s a yoga pose?
As we were on our way we saw this funny looking building with a golden sculpture on top. We were not sure what it is or what company it is from but my auntie says it could be from the vending machine handle company? Since the handle looks like the same?
東京スカイツリー Tōkyō Sukaitsurī - Tokyo Skytree

A blasting cooling mist machine.
Because it was 40°C plus.
At Skytree there are two levels that you can go explore. We`ve decided to check out both floors and bought a combo ticket for it and went to the first floor by this mega fast elevator that made my ear pop.
dark view never looked so
good
Bravely standing on glass floor. And yes I do have fear of heights.
DINNER
After roaming the Skytree for an hour or two it was time for food and heading back to our hotel. We didn`t eat at the Skytree café or the restaurant but we went to a much cozier place with teppanyaki and noodles!
I got the seafood noodles and it was delicious! It was also interesting to sit in front of the counter where you can see the chef cooking your food that it`s right under your nose.
One of my haul: Pikachu!!

  1. Maidreamin Cafe seems kinda creepy hehh. Did you notice whether the customers were mostly women/girls, men/boys, or pretty even? :o Seems like a unique experience at least! // The vending machine alley seems like a ghost town hehe. I wonder how often they're maintained! Usually I'm skeptical, but I know that vending machine culture is a huge thing in Japan, so I'm sure that they're well maintained! When I went back home to Beijing, I saw so many new vending machines pop up; there was one for fresh coconut! (idk how fresh the coconut ACTUALLY were though hah) // That mist machine is epiccccc. I need one to follow me around all summer!! -Audrey | Brunch at Audrey's

  2. Haha, funny you should mention that weird gold sculpture!! It actually belongs to Asahi beer and is meant to be a flame, but most people I know think it looks like a golden poop lol. Looks like you had a good time, I think I'd be dying in that 40 degree heat though!
